Metal Shop

Program Mission: The Metal Shop works to advance the status of metal artist. Our goal is to make anything imaginable out of metal by sharing knowledge and skills, and by encouraging one another to do the impossible.

History: The Metal Shop began with the founding of CELLspace, and is the oldest self-sustaining cluster. It contributes to the development of CELLspace by using the collaborative skills of its diverse group of artisans, artists and architects to explore group projects, teach classes in Metal Arts and offer its facilities to the public.

Current Projects & Resources: The metal shop offers ongoing welding classes as part of CELLspace's Adult Art Education Program. There are currently ten regular members of the Metal Shop who each rent workspace and are members of the collective group of artists that run the shop.
