Kiki Seror

  Kiki Seror working in digital photography and video she translates desire and imagination by creating computerized topography and tantalizing images that enlist desire, but take the viewer no further than the initial illusion allows. Juxtaposing public and private, sex and technology, Seror’s dizzying visual works are driven by a graphic and unashamed feminist sensibility that dares to trespass into realms of inquiry typically represented through a male perspective.  Seror was the subject of a survey exhibition at SITE Santa Fe in 2005, curated by Louis Grachos. Other solo shows include Apex Art, New York; the Sigmund Freud Museum, Vienna; and Nils Staerk Contemporary, Cophenhagen. Seror was born in Chicago in 1970. She received her BFA at The School of the Art Institute of Chicago, her MFA at the Columbia University School of the Arts, and had a four-year residency at the SMART Project Space, Amsterdam.
