CELLulose - woodshop cluster

Mission:

To act as a center for material based art with a foundation in strong environmental, safety, and social policies and expression through hands on community building and learning. Currently the Wood Shop is in process and not fully operational: we are looking for members. Please contact josh@cellspace.org if interested in joining, helping out, or donating equipment.

Goals:

1)To establish a secure shop facility with sufficient equipment to for primarily wood work, that serves the artistic community of San Francisco.

2)To sign letters of agreement with organizations and individual artists to form a collective organization, or 'cluster' which pays for Rent, Insurance, and Maintenance of space.

3)To elect from that cluster positions of general manager,and treasurer which may rotate as agreed by cluster consensus.

4)To establish and promote instructional courses in the techniques and tools of artistic construction.

Timetable:

1) Shop is at 75% operations as of July 1 2008: Projected 90% operations by August 1st 2008.

2) Membership has been limited to 6 groups or individuals, with specific rules and regulations to be decided through consensus of the cluster once fully established: Payments of Rent, Insurance and Maintenance will begin August 1st 2008

3) Currently Joshua McDermott and Eran Dayan are acting together as interim managers and treasurers. Rules of rotation will be determined in the First weeks of August 2008.

4) Workshops offered beyond cluster members could begin as soon as September 2008.
