Vega Berdón

Vega Berdón, Roa,(Burgos) España, is always looking for new materials and meanings in her work, renewing all time based on the change and progress. Experimentally merges the everyday movement with the extraordinary advance of the specials forms.

 After finishing her studies at Columbia University, New York, she developed her career as a painter, sculptor and visual artist. Her works have been exhibited at the “Rail Film Festival” in Paris, at the “Third Biennial of Contemporary Art” in Florence. Also, she has participated in several exhibitions: Circulo de Bellas Artes in Madrid, the Dop-Dop Gallery, Soho in New York, On Paper, Rock Scissors Gallery in Baltimore, among others.

 

She has moved her work between different European cities. In Coimbra (Portugal), her most recent painting exhibition it´s called: "Blue Gold", and shows her temperament, where the image reveals the illusion of reality decoded to reveal a richness of the expression.

Currently the artist lives in Spain, where she worked with research centres: Hangar in Barcelona and Laboral Center for Art and Industrial Creation in Gijon.

After filling with colors the front Santa Maria, of the well-known Burgos Cathedral, with a performance video, light and sound, she decides to find the form in the fundamental element. The language that she better get used: the chaos.

Looking for the realization of the objects, she is mainly interested in the mechanism, promoting in her latest researches a visual game of dynamic and movement. Coming into chaos, reaching the order: ensuring the continuity of life.
