ERAN DAYAN
Eran Dayan Design creates functional wares and artiquities, working at the intersection of art and engineering to bridge sculpture, furniture and lighting.
As a skilled artisan of junkumulation, Eran brings an element of relifing to his work by repurposing found objects and industrial scrap, embracing the challenges of material and circumstantial constraints to inform his design. He strives to keep his work balanced and emotive, observing the premise that successful design shall provide the user with a comforting experience of satisfaction and familiarity. Eran is a cofounder, alongside olivia., of the Circle and Square Collaboratory celebrating the synergy of collaborative art.
Educated and professionally trained in architecture, carpentry and structural engineering, Eran's focus on detailing, assemblage and materiality leads him to pursue smaller hand-crafted projects. His personal journey into craft incorporates woodworking, cast cement and leaded glass. He creates fine housewares from rough materials, including picture frames of cement and a line of luminaires assembled of cold-rolled steel, perforated aluminum and relaminated plywood.

At an architectural scale, Eran draws from over 10 years experience in residential, commercial and institutional architecture to provide space planning and building design services for new construction and renovation. Eran Dayan Design also offers consulting services and training in building information modeling in Revit, and drafting in AutoCAD.
Eran has been at CELLspace for over three years, working out of the miniscule, cluttered, inspired studio #5. He helped build and currently manages CELLulose, the woodshop cluster, as an affordable community material arts lab. Eran shows his work at SpaceCraft, a monthly exhibition launching new works by CELLspace resident artists, as well as at artspan open studios, and the mission art walk. His work can be seen at Propeller Modern in Hayes Valley, the Acupuncture Kichen Gallery in The Dogpatch and online at etsy.com. Custom artiquities can be commissioned.
