Welcome to CELLspace's First Community Supported Website
That's right, after 12 years of trying to keep it real, CELLspace welcomes all visitors to its new online portal. After much effort from many amazing people over the years, we're stepping into the 21st century with this official online version of our nifty multiuse space. Backed by a content management system (CMS) from the amazing Drupal community, this site will hopefully stay fresh and full of new information for you all to hook into.
Into RSS feeds? Scroll to the bottom of the home page and subscribe to CELL's feed. Into video? We've got the capabilities to easily hook you up. Want to know if a class is happening or not, check out the site to see if the Art Classes Cluster has any new news. Want to follow events but don't want to sign up to the Announce List, We'll have them posted here (with a calendar coming soon).
Instead of having one person update the site, which was our inefficient method until now, we're going to have individual clusters log in and update their own info. In true barn-raising form, we're having a workshop in our Media Lab to get cellfolks plugged into logging on, clicking through, and saving changes. That way, the site won't get outdated.
And, true to our collaborative leanings, this very entry might be added to, modified, tweaked, and edited. It'll be that easy to create a new online document that now logs the colorful history of CELLspace.
Much thanks to Josh McDermott and Russell Howze for spearheading the drive to modernize our site. Believe it or not, it was easier to migrate the content to Drupal than it was to update the old site.
Enjoy the new digihome of the CELLspace. Contact us if you have any comments, and become a Member if you'd like a free DVD, t-shirt, sticker, etc.
Yours,
The CELLspace Collective
