The CELLspace Milonga

WEEKLY

Every Wednesday night 9-12pm
8-9pm Beginners & Intermediate Class

$10 Class & Milonga; $5 Milonga only

The Cellspace alternative Milonga is an effort to balance out the
wonderful classic tango events throughout SF and the Bay Area with a
progressive community endeavor. Checkout the Project Tango DJ Resource
page for more info on alternative dj'ing & music! We are developing a
pool of alternative DJ's that are featured on a regular basis,
including a DJ Duel usually held on the 4th Weds. of each month. From
time to time we also put on special theme nights and have performances
of various art forms (not just tango)!

This is a "politically neutral" tango event with all attempts directed
towards minimal interruptions & maximum dance time during the evening.
A flyer table is provided for all folks to advertise their classes &
events, however, detailed verbal announcements will not be made. After
a performance, a brief verbal announcement is permitted to promote a
relavent class or event pertaining to the performers.

Welcome to CardBurg
in the Crucible Steel Gallery
exhibit open March 29
Three events in the coming weeks!

Join the Cardboard Institute of Technology for an exploration of the
rise, corruption, and fall of an entire civilization in only three
nights! Bear witness to the game of chance as you explore the city,
become its inhabitants, and help shape its ultimate demise. Three
nights of performance/para-performance encapsulate the entire legacy
of CardBurg, the cardboard city. Participation is inevitable as you
are swept up in the chaos of cardboard MONSTERS, superheroes, giant
puppets, and dancing Duck-squatch.

BE PREPARED! Come as your cardboard spirit animal or superhero or anti-
hero, or mythic creature of CardBurg's fabled past. Costumes are
welcome every night, and absolutely necessary for the "End of the
Ages" closing night party.

CELLspace.org Has a New Look
http://www.cellspace.org

That's right, after 12 years of trying to keep it real, CELLspace
welcomes all visitors to its new online portal. After much effort from
many amazing people over the years, we're stepping into the 21st
century with this official online version of our nifty multiuse space.
Backed by a content management system (CMS) from the amazing Drupal
community, this site will hopefully stay fresh and full of new
information for you all to hook into.

Into RSS feeds? Scroll to the bottom of the home page and subscribe to
CELL's feed. Into video? We've got the capabilities to easily hook you
up (check out Fog City's YouTube vid: http://www.cellspace.org/new/node/38)
. Want to know if a class is happening or not, check out the site to
see if the Art Classes Cluster has any new news. Want to follow events
but don't want to sign up to the Announce List, We'll have them posted
here (with a calendar coming soon).

Instead of having one person update the site, which was our
inefficient method until now, we're going to have individual clusters
log in and update their own info. In true barn-raising form, we're
having a workshop in our Media Lab to get cellfolks plugged into
logging on, clicking through, and saving changes. That way, the site
won't get outdated.

Much thanks to Josh McDermott and Russell Howze for spearheading the
drive to modernize our site. Believe it or not, it was easier to
migrate the content to Drupal than it was to update the old site.

Enjoy the new digihome of the CELLspace. Contact us if you have any
comments, and become a Member if you'd like a free DVD, t-shirt,
sticker, etc.

Yours,
The CELLspace Collective
