Coming up at Cellspace (2050 Bryant St @ 18th Street) this weekend:
On this Thursday night, August 6th, 2009 at 7pm will be the
montly Spacecraft event, a group show from the Cellspace studio
artists Michelle Guintu, Eran Dayan, Francica Ribeiro (in
residence from Portugal), Kwintesans, Raven Nielsen, Beth
Waldman and Corey Best.
There will be a performance by the Dandelion Dance Theatre, and
music by Trip Trap & Luc Fournier
Spacecraft happens on the first Thursday of every month, at 7pm.
On Friday night, August 7th, the insanely popular Black Rock
Roller Disco returns to Cellspace, a fundraiser for the Black
Rock Roller Disco camp at Burning Man, and for the Sunday Streets
campaign. Time: 8pm-1am.
To quote D. Miles, San Francisco's "GodFather of Skating":
"Sunday Streets is a citywide effort to close streets to car
traffic in San Francisco neighborhoods so that people can come
'Play in the Streets'. We call it 'Recreational Asphalt'. We've
done the Embarcadero, the Bayview and the Mission twice and will
do it again from Golden Gate Park to the Great Highway on Sunday,
Aug. 9. Come show your support for Sunday Streets by skating the
night away at the CellSpace with us."
Come dress in your funkiest disco outfits!!!
$10.00 per person in costume or playa garb. $15.00 per person without.
$5.00 for skate rentals. Roller Skates and Rollerblades will be available.

On Sunday, August 9th, at 5pm, the Dandelion Dance Theatre
group will be running the "Do-Ball Tournament": this is a
community arts/sports event featuring a new artsport called
Do-Ball. in which members of Dandelion teach whoever wants to
join in.
And don't forget the on-going Dandelion Playshop class on the
last Sunday of every month (the next one is on August 30th):
"Dandelion Dancetheater teaches a monthly Dance/Music/Theater
Playshop where people of all experience levels can come together
to learn dance, music and theater techniques and experiment
together with how the forms can come together for infinite
possibilities of expression and connection."

Ongoing at Cellspace:
Saturday mornings 10:30am, the Zumba dance/exercise class,
featuring an eclectic mix of latin dance moves, taught by
Nannette Vides.
Monday nights, 7pm, the "B-Boys" do their long-running
breakdancing workshop.
Wednesday nights, 8pm, is "Tango Unbound", tango lessons (8pm-9pm) followed
by tango dance (milonga), 9pm-Midnight.
Thursday night, 7pm is silkscreening, now taught by John Fischer.
Sundays, at Noon-3pm, the Double Dutch adult sport/fitness classes.
