Upcoming events and classes at Cellspace:
June is winding down to a close and with it comes the end of the
popular series of whacky/witty "Point Break" performances. June
26th, Friday night (that's *tonight*), there's a 9pm perfomance,
and there will be a special Saturday night performance at 7:30pm
and another at 10pm (door is open a half-hour before each show).
After that, there will be *one* more Point Break show at
Cellspace, on Friday, July 3rd, doors at 8:30pm, show at 9pm
This may go down in history as the longest running event at
Cellspace and we will remember it for a long time. Certainly we
will be cleaning up after it for a long time.

Project 2048 Artist Sherry Wong will be presenting "Play all" and will
showcase a series of group portrait paintings featuring members of the
various creative communities in San Francisco. Inspired by the artist's
introductory experience with the city's strong collective urge, the event
will be presented in the tradition of the 1960s avant-garde Happenings,
exploring the interplay between art and life.
The opening reception will also feature a curated section of sculpture,
painting, photography and installation art. The opening is followed by an
evening of performances including music, dance, athletics, drag, and
culminates with an interactive party. The broad spectrum of artists,
performers, DJs and musicians are all individuals depicted in the paintings.
Artists and performers will include:
Joe Joe Martin, Beth Waldman, Barnaby Conrad, Gary Janis, Alissa Anderson,
Pilar Woodman, Peter Hudson, Live Evil, Double Dutch, John John Dehan, DJ
Ding Dong, DJ JoeJoe, DJ Ernie Trevino, and the Sisters of Perpetual
Indulgence among others.
Opening reception: Free from 7pm to 9pm
Performances and interplay: 9pm to 2am
Admission: $7

Action Day
Action Day is a full day where all of the different folks who use Cell Space
and folks from the community get together to meet each other and work on
cleaning and fixing the Cell Space. We BB-Q and generally have a great time.
It is always amazing what 20-30 folks all working together can accomplish in
one day. This action day is all about painting and cleaning. We will also be
working out back on Florida St. trying to make a good impression on the
neighbors by cleaning and trying to make it a little brighter out there.
Have something you want to see done on action day email me at
davex at burningman.com and I will add it to the list.
We will meet at 10am with snacks and commence the cleaning and making it
nice. Lunch will be provided as well as some cheap drinks from Costco.
On-going classes:
Monday, 7pm: B-boys, Break dancing
Tuesday, 7pm: Danza Azteca Xitlali, Aztec dance
